Droylsden will face Evo Stik Premier Club Spennymoor Town in the First Qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday 3rd September at the Butcher's Arms if they overcome Radcliffe Borough this Saturday in the preliminary Round

The Bloods season got off to a flying start with three points at the Giant Axe.

Goals from new signings Liam Caddick and Lloyd Ellams sealed the victory after the new look Droylsden team had fallen behind early in the first half from a free kick by Lancaster skipper Richard Mercer which found the top corner.

Friendly arranged for Saturday 6th August

The Bloods have arranged a last minute friendly this Saturday the 6th August.

We will travel to Holywell Town, members of the Huws Gray Alliace League.

They play at Halkyn Road which is located just a short walk from the Town Centre, just behind the newly built cottage hospital.

Kick Off is 2.30pm

Stalybridge Date for the Bloods

Local rivals Stalybridge Celtic will be the Bloods opponents in the 1st Round of the Frank Hannah Manchester Premier Cup.

The tie will take place on Tuesday 4th October with the 7.45 kick off

Tony Downes Memorial Trophy

This weekend sees local football team Droylsden FC taking on Curzon Ashton in a pre season friendly.

The game is being played for the Tony Downes Memorial Trophy.

Neil 'Tony' Downes was killed in 2007 when the vehicle he was travelling in was hit by an explosion when on a patrol with the Afghan National Army (ANA) close to the town of Sangin in Helmand Province.

Tony was twenty years old, from Droylsden, he had joined the Army in 2004 and had already completed one tour in Iraq with the Grenadier Guards in 2006.

He lived with his parents Sheryl and Ronnie at the King’s Head pub on Market Street just a stone's throw from the Butcher's Arms, the home ground of Droylsden FC.

Kick off is at 3.00pm Saturday 23rd July
